Hi,

In try to use the same username and password in Steam for Mac and for Windows but they lead me to different accounts in each case. Is this normal?

Steam does not care about the operating system. There are no Windows accounts or Mac accounts.

You obviously enter different login credentials if you end up in different accounts.

Do you have other people in your household who also use Steam?

You should use the same account name, not username. Very important difference. Accountnames are unique to each account, usernames are not.

Steam account is not tied to any OS, it's tied to a server known as Steam, just like how you can login to your Facebook account, or whatever service across any device, and OS.

Steam login name can not be changed, nor alter, so if you have more than one account that should answer your question to your problem, as you're probably not realizing you're entering in the wrong account login name.

Example if have bob1 account and made alt bob2 account, and wanted to use bob1 you put in bob1 not bob2, that all there is to it.

I understand what you say but I know wha I'm talking about, I 've been with computers since they started back in 1981.
I use the user "kondemoore" and the password "esto76544eskk" (fake) in Steam for Mac in the laptop I am writing this from, the same laptop where I have Parallels Desktop 7 installed with Windows 10 and Steam for Windows. In Steam for Windows I use those same user/password and thy lead me to another account.
I play Call of Duty on my iPad and I can use Steam with the correct user and also connect via the Facebook account (same user name)
All I want to do is play CoD in this laptop with the same user so I will not loose my points/status.
Maybe the Steam support team can help but they do not answer me.

Forget it, seams the Steam support team did do something and now it works.
THANK YOU all for your help.

I hope that user is a fake account name as well, as you should never ever post your account name in public.

That a lot of contradictory to what you're saying.

Like I said if you have more than one account, and you're entering in the wrong login name, that be the reason. Facebook connect to Steam was discontinued support long time ago, as well it was only meant to share your screenshots easier to facebook that was it.

Cod does not matter what username you use, if it links accounts that how it carries your points/status over.

Lastly I hope that username was fake, as this is a user forum, not ideal to give out private info out.
