Why is steam capping my download speed?

I can download at a rate of 967 Mb/s which is about 120 MB/s

But steam is capping my download rate at 67 MB/s - Why??

Steam does not cap downloads. Steam can obliterate your bandwidth

Look at your system performance you are either

1) IO limited by disk
2) CPU limited

Patching of files will be limited by one of the above not your bandwidth

I might add that where I live, downloading at 2 MB/s is considered fast, let alone 67MB/s. On my connection the average speed is 10-15Mb/s sometimes slowing down to 2 or 3 Mb/s. So you've actually got really fast internet even if you have been slowed down.

And before anyone asks, yes know the difference between Mb and MB.
