Drive disappears from computer when installing games

The problem is that I just got a 1 terabyte drive free and I'm trying to download games on that drive but when doing so the downloading game pauses and says "Disk write error" and I notice that every time this happens my 1 tb drive disappears and I have to open it over and over again. Does ANYONE know a solution to this?! Like I try searching fixes on YouTube but none of them seem to be helping... Please help if you have a solution. I would really appreciate it.

Either the cables aren't seated properly or the drive has gone bad. Check the connections, if they're fine, at least you didn't spend anything on it. :)

No, I got 1 tb free in the windows 10 os. I don't really have a cable drive or anything. Thanks anyways.

You'd better ask for help in real life, I don't think you understand computers well enough to fix this with online instructions.

every drive despite M.2 and PCI-e SSD's have a cable, 2 cables most of the time: a pwoer cable and a sata cable. In case of a U.2 drive like the Intel Optane 900P and external drives you have still one cable.
A drive can only physically exist unless you have a RAM Disk which I doubt since no consumer can get even close to 1TB RAM and therefor must be connected to the motherboard somehow.

So what drive is it for you? HDD/SSD? Have you run a disk check on that drive? could also be a failing drive.

ITS OK I GOT IT FIXED. The problem was I got gta 5 on my C drive but I had another drive called D and I wasn't using that one so I just used my C drive and I used all that space up. So I brought my pc to Best Buy and they reset my pc and Now I know to only use that 1 terabyte that came with the computer and um I feel dumb please don't get mad at me cause I wasted your time im sorry i feel so stupid...
