Game Transfer Help
I want to transfer my games from my laptop thats breaking to my better PC. The laptop is almost died and wouldn't charge properly. Plus I live in a dead zone so slowly trying to download my backup folder and shove it into 4GB flash drive is out of the question.
Is there a way to get them on the other computer without good internet?

You saying your laptop doesn't read flashdrive? Or that your backup folder is cloud-saved requiring wi-fi?

Normally, the easiest way would be to copy your steam folder onto a much bigger flashdrive (or portable hdd) and move/paste it to the new pc.
If you do not have one of these, you should get one.

This will save you a lot of trouble. If you know your laptop is dying, figure out what kind of drive it's got (I don't really know too much about laptop drives honestly, but it *should* still have the same kind of connectors a regular computer has, if perhaps going in a different direction from a larger one). Remove the drive (I mean, if it's a dying lappy does it matter if you open it up?) and connect it to a functional other computer - GROUNDED plugs for power!! GROUNDED... very important. It will just plug in like a regular external drive at that point, and you could much more easily move data.

it does read my flashdrive, it doesnt have that much storage. What I could get to my desktop, wouldn't actually load any save data on the folder even when I restart the game and the computer.

Thanks man, I'll try to order soon
two options, take your drive from your laptop and put on your pc, then copy everything, or buy a ethernet crossover cable, conect the two pc and copy as needed.
Copy the whole steam folder to another computer

Tried, Steam didn't detect it and tried to download it again when I try to open via game file
The whole thing with steam exe in it.
On the "same" place, to make sure

And run steam exe once in it.

op 1: the bottom of my laptop has different sized screws and I only have one size and the closest (good) hard ware is in another city. so I can't really get to it.
op 2: ethernet cable? didn't know that you use it for that too.

When you use the internet, you connect to other computers all the time......

with USB tether, not at the same time.
Read about transfering data to another computer next to you
When you move a whole steam folder, you just need to change the Steam location for the files. you'd need to do this for each game unless they've changed it. That's all though - just point Steam to the new directory. It will search and think it needs to download things, but in the end it'll still detect the files properly.
