ps4 controller no longer working correctly
So a few days ago my ps4 controller has stopped working like it normally should. The formatting options for several of my games are screwed up with no way I can find to fix it. I've tried everything, including deleting everything under sdl_gamepadbind and that hasn't worked either. To give an example, with Tekken 7 the square button is tied to both square and circle, X with X and square, and circle is tied to circle and X. The only one that seems to work properly is triangle. So I'm gonna post all the SDL_gamepad info below and maybe someone can help me fix it?

If I'm not mistaken, the SDL string for DS4s are set in a DLL file, so even if the string in the config file was modified it would be overwritten with original values. So if that is correct, then perhaps are you using Steam Input (PS config support enabled or Steam Input forced on for the individual games) or some other input mapper?
If you get Xbox prompts then an input mapper (though you can get PS prompts if using one that can emulate a DS4 e.g. DS4Windows).

I've tried steam input enabled, disabled and on user default settings and it doesn't seem to do anything to fix the issue. I haven't touched the settings for my controller at all. I just updated my computer and suddenly everything is wonky. I don't use emulators anymore and the ones I did have I have uninstalled. Im also kinda not great with technical stuff so if I'm missing anything in what you replied with, try and explain it to me like I'm a third grader if you wouldn't mind 😅

Are you on Windows 10?
Follow this and you'll see how Windows is reading the controller:
Quit Steam if it's running (or disable PS config support - View > Settings > Controller > General Controller Settings) so we avoid the possibility of the controller using Steam's desktop configuration.
Connect your controller via cable to help rule out any issue due to BlueTooth/wireless adapter (if that was how you'd previously connected it)
Press Windows key + R, type joy.cpl, press Enter. (Also possible to just press the Window key/click the Start icon and then start typing).

That opens Game Controllers and should list "Wireless Controller".
Does it list something other than that? Are there multiple listings?

Select Wireless Controller and then click Properties.
Test out the controller and see if any single control results in multiple button press indicators.

I tried what you suggested and everything is assigned as a single button press and it's listed as wireless controller.

So I tried it with tekken 7 again and it's doing the exact same thing it did before. And it seems to act differently with other games. The Mass effect remaster no longer recognizes my controller at all unless I disable and then re-enable controller support, launch the game and then enable Playstation controller support while the game is running after unplugging and replugging it. But with games like State of Decay 2 or Spyro, it works perfectly fine.
