Three months have passed, but I still can't change my area

I bought a game in Azerbaijan on October 15, and my account was transferred to Azerbaijan, but three months later, when I bought a game in China on January 18, it showed that I couldn't buy a game in my region for less than three months. (all above are Chinese time)

You have to put a game into your cart, then at checkout there wil be a option to switch store region.
Choose Chinese and then use a payment method registered in China to pay for it, that should switch your store region.

Of course there may be a problem because China now uses their own special Steam client and the normal Steam client is not available without VPN and is actively blocked in China.
No clue how that will influence the store switching.

When paying, it shows that you can update your Steam account country / region no more than once every 3 months. Please complete this purchase using the payment method in your current region.

I mean, if you are sure you passed the 3 month cooldown and have the correct payment method you can only contact Steam Support to ask them why its not working.

I have looked for customer service for many times. They are like robots. They reply the same words every time and say please read their terms. I feel very helpless

Have you replied to the response you got? Not made a new ticket, but replied. The first response to a ticket is usually copy paste based on a quick scan for key words in your ticket. Reply to the response, letting them know that you have been back in China for more than 3 months, but still cannot make a purchase.

Is it possible that the Chinese government might have made it so that purchases can't be made on this version of Steam in China? Maybe purchases can now only be made from the Chinese version of Steam in China?

The customer service replied because I used VPN, which caused IP hiding and refreshed the time of three months. In China, there is no way to access the community without using these tools, and sometimes even the store can't enter

Stop using the VPN to bypass the restrictions or your problem will stop being a delay on changing region and instead become a full block on purchasing or activating anything on your account.

I'm having the same issue, were you able to get it changed back? I bought a game off Taobao February 25 and it changed my region. I can't change it and its been 3 months

OPs answer was to stop using a VPN that caused the cooldown to restart. Depending on the VPN the auto system is now very good at spotting those.

Which is what Ogami explained in a earlier answer. In China, you gotta use Steam China.

My steam account got hacked and the hacker changed the region, even if I choose my country when trying to buy a game it says I cant change my country before 3 months
