and let make clear local news media google still work, see it as a dns test and working try visit a page not cache. i dont care if this is CNN or what ever you have where you live see it seen as fresh lookup DNS request.
thats just ruleout yes dns working and isp traffic to that place working.
do other game client works or games devs client many of use have multi today see it as another test.
google steam flush cmd. do that work dont forget a total reboot include router and then pc 3 minute after, this is so router wan lines get up again and clear the DNS table. just to ruleout most basic network and its a steam issue only, as everyone think here.
ps.
steam flush cmd is seen as get ride of whatever option you did and let steam get back to normal, dont ask me about that cmd, it do cleanup steam even bugs problem is that cmd is so old and all info to my knowledge is not even mention other then its there. and do it job.
you can find that cmd in steam command option on steam help web page.
And yet nothing make seen why 3 pc is down unless you lost network connection and get 3 minute cooldown before it get back online. ( with internet connected again )
Hey, thank you so much for your input. I totally see the logic here that it's the problem with the network at our home, not the individual computers. Everything else is working fine, including internet and other game client like blizzard client. We've tried resetting the router as well after flushing the dns. I think the problem started happening after we reset the router to check security stuff, but no clue why pcs hooked up to ethernet are all not working since yesterday. The funny thing is that steam actually works on laptop which is connected on wifi (checked just now) but still nothing from PCs.
You'll want to verify if you're using IPV6 before or not (ipconfig /all); essentially IPV4 is ***.***.***.***, whereras IPV6 is much longer. In some cases this is the difference between "NO CONNECTION" and a full connection.
thanks for the input, but unfortunately this didn't work as well :/
"The funny thing is that steam actually works on laptop which is connected on wifi"
this dont ruleout faulth router or miss configurstion.
rule is 1 device get through rest is seen as local issue.
so if Nat configurations is added then rest should work,
first i througth do you have the lan flip/flop to a wan port but then it cant be that then wifi laptop work.
if laptop working then wifi to wan line most work, and that sounds like either you made portforwarding mistake and not NAT configuration or router simple have a hardware error issue
3 pc simple dont stop working on its ports no matter if you had 1 lan port that need to be switch to wan port on the router nd that advance mode only, but then it dont make sense then laptop wifi work unless you reconfigurated router and make well not 2 mistakes but lets say you get to to work with laptop and change something again. you might want to tell router name so i can lookup router at pdf file or net.
the ipv6 rule is if ISP use it ,then you need it, if they dont use it, some see to get issue with it , again contact ISP , reason is what will you do then someday they enable and it dont work or you have bug issue with it. we are many that has it on and no issue with it , until that day our isp enable it. ( and who said they tell you that they do )
and no , i doubt a isp will write to every customer we have now enable it.

use laptop to test watchout for laptop auto switch to wifi, they are famous for find nearest hotspot ( that mean besure its own network and not neigbour, trust me on this even i help a neigbour once and somehow i could reach my own with no signal, man as you see you think you are on right router at neibour but auto switch to find other nearest hotspot can happend )
i only tell you so you know and maybe your laptop found other hotspot and it was not your network. can happend to anyone, even if a router drop out you only need to drink coffie and it can switch under 3 to5 sec. ( we are many that seen this ) so watchout you not fall into that trap. ( and yes i know you can disable such on tech person laptop, its normal and work for hotspots )
if you have a old switch try that, i doubt you have spare router, well who knows.
