Download pathway to Drive not showing
For some reason my library folder pathway has stopped working for my drive and even though all the games are still present in the Steam Library folder within that drive, when going into Downloads/ Libraries the drive shows up but not the folder, Steam has changed the UI since I set up the pathway and I can't direct it to that Games folder as Steam has made it impossible to carry out this process. D: Games/ Steam Library is the pathway but when I go into that drive on Libraries it's not showing up. The Steam Library on that drive has over 240 GB of games so I really don't want to have to reinstall all these games just because Steam hasn't allowed me to set the correct pathway.

There's a down-arrow on the drive selection that will open a menu where there is a "Let me choose another location" option where you can pick a specific drive and folder.

yeah I'm aware of that but what happens is, with this method it is an option to "add" another "drive/folder", the problem is, I already have the Steam Library on the drive and this option only allows you to create another Steam Library Folder which must be empty when you create it. What I'm trying to do is point to the already existing "Steam Library" folder that contains over 240GB of games inside, but Steam in their infinite wisdom (as with Microsoft) has changed the option to set the pathway, limiting it to only adding a "new" folder/drive.

This is steam new Multi path on other disk "?:\SteamLibrary"
this is not what you and me know better or have a choise this is the way they want it now to make consensus or forced way ( calll it what you want )

Even my steam game crash and lib was remove with old path.
the minute i try add to old it just made new on same disk a diffrent place then i knew what was wrong, fine take t up with steam then, its simple here i dont give a ratts butt with steam has its own folder on root level, and thats why they did it and games is not root.

all this is part of security and system access , you need to be skilled to know this.
and what you think you know is not same as have the education in what ROOT folder is and ackknowledge things have change in both systeam and our security , this will be impossible for steam to explan normal user. ( this is not about free chiose this is about security is a beast and now again have cause issue over time, gl finding person that even want to explan things happend over 2 decads , there is no such educated person, you need to work with it or have skill enough to see it.

so all this could be said with move old lib content into new area, end of debat.
i could have said Mandatory stucture force down your throat. ( this is not debatable )
so NO you have not a free choise, you can fiddle with all the NTFS rights or simple just move it there. ( you are on that level of system security now, again require skills to do. )

let me joke about
"?:\SteamLibrary" this is steam default ROOT Folder now with Multi disk access.
not what you want,

this is a user reply be happy you got one that know why, things just dont work as it use to do.
Steam ways bend in the dust(earth) to get it. ( until they want change it again someday or never )

ps.
most server require user setup and NTFS rights, and many privat user screw this up
this mean all folder thats not root is read only and you cant be a sub folder of such
with lesser admin right the read only, gl explan that to people that dont know better
and now you can see why steam made a forced ROOT Folder choise i dont work for steam
but its look like thats the problem here and why they do as they do.

and you can find 1000 of ppl install things on server and remote disk content and some is DAS other NAS other just external unit, so its not that simple to explan and root access with rights is the missing explanation here.

dont forget just because im educated in this, its still just a best guess.
dont forget they try make it work with 250 to 350 million active user each day and they do alot of thing on remote disk , and some mistake about it even that is seen before.
its more common to have a external access today then few years ago.
so things is not that simple for steam. ( and old steam recommedation not recommended all from old usb issue to device and all this is still user own problem, so its funny how steam actual have change to fit whatever ppl use is not our problem and media. they seem to have change and they dont say or want to say it. )

do note all i did was add lost multi disk content and all was back.
thats my point they have change not 1 game need to be reinstall or was lost.
and thats is a huge step in right directions

all this can be said in one line.
obey steam new default ways.

Incorrect. You can add an existing library folder from your drive but you have to choose the correct folder.

First make sure that you don't already have that drive added to Steam. You can only have one library folder per drive. Just tell Steam to remove the drive as a library folder.

When you add the drive with your custom folder, you want to choose the folder that contains the \steamapps\ folder. For instance, if you have the following:

D:\GAMES\Steam\steamapps\common

You want to point Steam to add:

D:\GAMES\Steam\

Don't choose any folder lower in the path than that.

Ok so you're saying I should be able to point to that path, as I did try and all I got was add the D: drive then when searching for the alternative in the drop down box you showed in your screenshot the only drive that showed up in there was the C: I'll give it a go and see if I can create that path.

I'm such a ******** doofus!! I just noticed when opening the "let me chose another location" the arrow to the top right that then shows the other drives, when I looked before I must've been suffering a bit of PC rage and it blinded me from seeing it suddenly the clouds parted and golden sunshine came washing over me! Thanks for the assistance mate, it's all back to the original state and no need to transfer 240GB of games, Love your work, I owe you one!
