According the Steam Card Exchange there are over 50,000 backgrounds available in the Steam ecosystem, and that's just counting the marketable stuff (i.e. not point shop exclusives). I'm sure there's something that will work for you.
Dont know now, but you if you have all the trading card collection of one game you can exchange them for an emoji, a background and badge of the game
And yes, you can't make custom profile background except artworks, screenshots
I'm not trying to rekindle this discussion but this justification makes no sense at all.
Who cares if there are tons of backgrounds available? Obviously they aren't to their liking so people keeps asking about custom backgrounds. By the way don't take this personal, i'm encountering similar justifications all day in similar topics.
They only have to moderate stuff game developers make available.
