SOLVED!!! internet speed goes down when I start a game

Hi!

my internet speed drops from 500/500 to 5/1 as soon as I start a game. Contacted the ISP and no restrictions from their side. This occurs on one computer and same effect via ethernet as wifi. No restrictions in the router. Also, as soon as I quit a game the speed goes up instantly to 500/500. I have no download limitation in steam. Need help! I have cleaned the download cache.

Any software or driver on it regarding network traffic optimization or Quality of Service QoS?

Buy a better pc then your windows judge you pc cant handle both with no lag in game while DL it.

ps.
you can even test it with a lesser game requirement then DL should get higher or on max.

thats that problem here with you, you assume this is something new.
you will know this if yuo had network education, reciveing end cant keep up.
its hes pc that that tell DLserver i cant keep up slow down the sending.

all ths is smokescreen your CPE end unit is the probelm you pc hardware and software or option you did, what has that to do with ISP transfer rate nothing , and has you Said QoS and other issue is still hes pc.

10-4 thats right you dont even ruleout he dont have issue then not playing, thats the problem with you, oneside only and lack the other, you are not skilled enough in network and pc and its several time alot of ppl have point it out.

we other can say same to you in have to explan you and enlight you lack of skills,

OP already explan "internet speed goes down when I start a game" that mean windows try to adjust buffer in recieve whatever is left to handle DL and still have NO or try avoid LAG in game this is special learn from previous windows, so technicaly its nothing new in this.

Still no clue what is causing this problem, and it is any game. I have restarted everything too. Is there a way to start a game without Steam in the background?
I have tested multiple speed testers and the result is the same. As soon as a steam game starts the speed drops and pops up as fast as I end the game. elite dangerous for example, when the first screen comes up where you choose wich version to run even then the speed has dropped.

Feel free to check QoS or network mangement as lenovo call it. but if you lag while play game then you know why.

ps.
All this is still your problem play a game and DL sametime is know aa windows buffer adjustment to what it can recive. with double task. lack of free resources.


interference issue try that thats safe boot mode for check other things cause this and again your pc and not a DL issue.

I tried to download via steam, and it is then full speed, even videos on steam. And I have turned off QoS. But as soon as a game starts...
