Valve Index Warranty In The UK?
Hey all! Was wondering what the Valve Index's warranty period would be in the UK - now that we have left the European Union and the EU legislation does not directly apply to us anymore.

Many thanks,
Foxxxy.

That's not how it worked, versions of the EU laws (they were a minimum standard and local laws could go further) were written into UK law whilst we were a member state. Until those UK laws are repealed and replaced by parliament then they still apply. Laws around warranties have not been replaced yet.

Still it's now just UK law now and no EU law anymore so OP has a point.
It's a valid reason wanting to inform someone about warranty regulations before buying something as expensive as a Valve Index set.
Especially if you are unsure if and when how much the regulations have changed.

And it's valid to explain that all EU laws became UK law whilst we were a member state and have to be replaced by new legislation passed through parliament, which means the law that applies now is exactly the same as the one that applied whilst we were in the EU.

Especially as the document you linked to does not specify anything about the UK.

All global companies have predetermined these kind of 'cases' in their Terms & Conditions. If a specific region/country is not described, highly likely the UK will currently fall under a sort of 'global warranty'. OR UK region warranty description could already have been added/changed within a new version of Steam/Valves T&C.

@Foxxxy..... if you want to know you'll simply will need to start digging through pages & pages of Steam/Valve T&C's. Good luck with that!

Nearly all EU legislation created before the 31 December 2020 was adopted into UK domestic law.

That might be the case. Steam/Valve need to define WHAT kind of warranty UK customers will receive within their T&C's. Steam/Valve basically need to mention/predetermine if UK customers will get the same EU warranty OR some kind of other warranty :-)
