About to transfer my games to a new HDD/SSD
Will my saves go along with the transfer or would I have to manually transfer them myself? If so how?

Update: when I was done transferring my games to my new drive then turn off my computer completely and took out my old drive and switched it with the new one the games didn't show up in my steam library or in the actual files but my new drive indicates that there was space that was taken up that matches to the same amount of games I transferred. When I decided to switch back to my old drive so I could see what the f.uck is going on (since they showed up just fine in my new SSD before the shut down and switch. I assume it was one of Gabe's s.hitty implementations in this platform that caused this weird s.hit) my new drive ended up getting bad sectors in it and had to do a check disk to fix those errors so I don't need to purge my new drive but in the process it deleted all my installed steam games. So now how do i sync up my cloud saves to me reinstalled games? it obviously doesn't auto sync since one of my reinstalled games only has "new game" but won't let me access to my old saves while my old saves are definitely in the cloud since i was able to access them through the web page.

Most games (all?) don't store the saves with the game; instead, saves go to the Windows documents folder, or into AppData, or even the Steam/userdata folder.

You don't have to transfer your saves. They are stored in Steam Cloud so even if Steam can't find them on your disk, you can't loose them.

... for games that support it.

The overwhelming majority of games yes. There's always a few exceptions. The only one I know off the top of my head is Ark: Survival Evolved, saves stored in the game's directory. I would be shocked if it was the only one.

Explain exactly how you went about transferring your games from one drive to another?

You should have come here first, this guide is for how to move games between disks when you wanted to clone a disk and replace it with another.

When you removed you old disk, did you give your new one the same drive letter as the old? What is the letter of the disk that you currently have your games installed on?

But It was D: when you copied the games over, you just expected Steam to know that you changed drive letters on it.

Is Steam also installed on C:?

Firstly go back to your library page and remove any libraries apart from your C: drive, then open up the steamapps folder in C: drive and make sure you have a load of .appmanifest files in the root of steamapps.

So you only have 2 games installed right?

Delete every file in the Steam folder apart from Steam.exe and the SteamApps folder, restart your computer then run Steam.exe, let it update and your games should show once you log in.
