Mobile Authenticator Not Sending SMS Code?
My main phone's battery died so i'm using my old phone. I disabled phone guard from pc (and also logged out of all devices) and now i'm trying to enable it on my phone, but when i get to "Step 1 Enter the SMS code we've sent to your phone" i'm simply not getting any messages. Also when i click "Click here to resend it." it just says "Missing or invalid form session key."

Any ideas as to what i can do to fix this?

Basics: Is the browser your using up to date? Don't use the client browser.

I'm not receiving SMS messages!
If you are unable to receive SMS messages from Steam, check with your wireless provider that your wireless account is allowed to receive them. Our text messages can come from a 6 digit phone number, please ensure that your provider supports this. Steam will also stop sending SMS messages if too many have been sent to you, so waiting a few minutes to an hour may allow messages to come through again. You should also check to make sure that your phone's inbox is not full.

I don't get what you mean by "Is your browser up to date?" I'm using the steam app on the phone
And also for some reason i only don't get the code for phone authentication, i do get messages for other stuff like changing credentials and such.

The steam app is up to date? I assume the phone numbers on the phones were identical?

Suddenly I'm logged out of the Steam Mobile App and not seeing authenticator codes, what do I do?
Make sure the app is up to date on your phone and restart the app. This is a rare issue, that is commonly solved by restarting the app. Do not delete and reinstall the app. If you delete the mobile app from your phone, you'll need to reset your authenticator using https://help.steampowered.com.

Help! I sold or lost my phone and I can't log in anymore! What do I do?
If possible, you should contact your wireless service provider and get a replacement phone with the same phone number. Steam will be able to send SMS messages to your replacement phone, and you will be able to recover your account as described below.

If you no longer have access to your phone and don't have your recovery code, you'll need the assistance of Steam Support. Use the "Help me with my issue" button at the top right of this page to get help removing your authenticator. If you don’t have access to the email address that is currently associated with your Steam Account please provide proof of account ownership within your ticket.

The phone number is identical.
The app is up to date i've also just tried removing and adding the phone number back and i get messages for codes to confirm that i want to add it. But i still don't get any codes for steam guard phone authentication and as ive said when i press "click here to resend it." i just get "missing or invalid form session key" above the empty field where the code is supposed to be typed in.

Damn this is still a thing. Thanks god I found that thread. I had the same issue. Even with the newest app version.
does not work anymore! maybe that is why the app is rated soo low on playstore
CHECK SPAM. On my samsng device it was the 3 lines (settings) and there was a section for spam. There were the steam sms messages.

I see no "you and friends" option on the steam mobile app but I'm new to the app so maybe I'm just stupid, can someone help?

Just click your profile pic and you should find the edit profile button there. However, it's not working on my phone. Apparently the "bug" has been fixed by valve already. That's soooo dumb
hello there folks.
if some ppl still have problems recieving the sms on their smartphone, check your standard app for recieving any sms on your device. MY problem and solution not recieving the guard link code via sms was, that i had the standard sms app on HELIUM BACKUP. this rooted backup app i didnt even have on my phone and i dont think its able to recieve any sms anyway (correct me if im wrong). therefor i checked and switched my android default messages app as a standard and then for gods sake i got that sms FINALLY. all after i desperately tried it like 3-4 times with banned cooldowns oof. i guess it really seems valve had fixed that main issue here...
