also note that states tend to change their tax rate at the beginning of the year, some do, most don't, but it's fun for vendors to catch up, so you want to weight up the time taken to create a steam support ticket and not getting any joy, and what you think you are shorted by. It looks to me like we are talking about 4.8% versus 4.2% . Do let us know how it turns out.
Missouri sales tax - 4.225%
Pretty similar. If you spend $10, that's a difference in sales tax between the two states of 7 cents.
Maybe Steam will eventually catch up, but meanwhile I wouldn't even sweat it. Unless you spend several tens of thousands of dollars per year through Steam, I don't think the state of Missouri cares about that pocket change.
If you go to your account page:
https://store.steampowered.com/account
... near the top is "The following payment methods are currently associated with your account." and below that you should see any saved accounts. For whatever reason, the option to "Update the payment method linked to this account" has been bugged for some time, at least with saved credit cards. Just Delete the payment method from there and add it back with your new, correct billing address.
Pretty sure this was it! I noticed my billing address was still Utah. Thank you!
Oh well this is very useful. Thanks! Guess it wasn't as big of a deal as I thought. I know Amazon orders in Missouri are significantly cheaper than Utah, but I guess it's not that big of a difference on Steam. Thanks again!
