Games not showing up in Windows search and start

I installed GTA V and F1 2021 and can run them via the Steam library, but they do not appear in Windows Search or Start. There is a desktop icon. Anyone knows how I can fix this?

Games installed through Steam never show up in the Start menu, so nothing to fix there. You can manually add a shortcut there. Right-click the desktop shortcut and then choose "Pin to Start" (assuming you're on Win10).

I meant when you press the windows key and start typing the name of the game, you can launch the game. That's not a thing for me...

You're only going to achieve this functionality if you manually copy the game's desktop shortcut to the Start Menu.

First of all, make sure there's a shortcut to the game on your desktop. If it doesn't exist, then right click the game in your Steam library, click 'manage' then 'add to desktop'.

Now open File Explorer and paste the following into the address bar:

%AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

Now drag or copy/paste the game shortcut on your desktop into the File Explorer folder you just opened.

Close File Explorer and after a few seconds, typing the name of the game into the search bar should find it for you.
