Unable to change Steam Wallet billing address?
Hi there. I was setting up Steam wallet balance billing info, and managed to click the wrong state. It's trying to charge me tax on a game now, and I can't find a way to fix the selected state. Re-inputting the billing info doesn't update it, and I don't have an available card or PayPal account. Is there any way to update this? I'd rather not have to pay tax on a game or app if I don't live in that state...

EDIT: Solved. Contacted support and requested the information be removed. All is right and information has been updated properly.

Did you select (Change) next to Payment method: My Steam Wallet in the Review + Purchase window when checking out? I just tried that and it let me select a different state from the drop down menu. I didn't continue though, because I am not in a different state, so I don't know if the change would save.

If you did that and it still won't update, you might need to contact Steam Support to ask them if they can fix the error https://help.steampowered.com/en/wizard/HelpAccountDataQuestion

But only do that if you are actually living in that state. Valve has increased its efforts to stop people from region hopping to avoid taxes. If they have evidence that you don't live in that state, they could decide that they no longer want to do business with you (lock your account so that all you can do is play the games that you currently own - no new purchases, key activations, community market purchases, accepting gifts, or trades).

Hi there! Thanks for replying. Yeah I tried updating it during checkout but it always applied the old state after going back. Not too sure what's going on there.

If I have to I'll gladly supply Valve with some sort of ID to prove I live in the state I'm trying to select. Sent them a ticket last night but haven't heard back from it...
You can change your region only if you buy something using a payment method accepted by the destination region (with a vpn active if you are not really in that region). There's no other way (unless you want to create a new account).

I'm not trying to change my entire region, just my state in the US.

The more I search about this, the more I see some people having to contact support to get it fixed.

Yep, I contacted support right after I made this post. They just replied 20 or so minutes ago saying they cleared out my billing information.
