Account Locked for Chargeback that I resolved
My steam account was locked due to the fact that my bank charged back a purchase they found suspicious. I reversed it the day after and I was told my account would be unlocked and my access restored. My bank charged me the full amount a week ago and my account is still locked for 4 weeks and I cant even redeem keys that I have already purchased. Is there anything I can do to get my access back quicker. Steam told me it might be up to 60 days which is unacceptable

And did you specifically address this back to Steam Support after you had proof of this from your bank?

Because you're told to do that.

Ah, I see what you want.

No, you cannot "SPEED UP" a process which requires you to wait a penalty period or cooldown.

Talk with your bank about them doing chargebacks on random whims!

It is not unacceptable for it to take upwards of 60 days for Valve to unlock your account and get things settled.

The unacceptable act is you and your bank doing the chargeback (for apparently no reason?). Did you ask your bank why they thought the Steam charge was suspicious? Did you clear up whatever your bank's problem was so it doesn't happen again?

Generally speaking banks don't just do a chargeback without you (or another authorized person on the account) making a complaint.

I was told to contact steam support and I have. They told me I would gain my access back once my chargeback was reversed. It has now been a week since i reversed my chargeback and I still have not gotten my access back. The penalty was said to only apply if i did not reverse it which I did.

My bank was not used to me purchasing more than $10 at a time so a $90 charge made them think it was unauthorized. At this point im just angry that I paid my $90 and still dont have access to my account or the game i paid for

But, did you contact support AFTER the charge-back was cleared, as you were told?

This. The bank should've froze your account and contacted you, I'd be extremely pissed if my bank pulled this crap. Chargebacks aren't something that should just be done based on a suspicion. Some services might just straight up terminate your account, and who knows what Valve might do if it happens again.

I don't see a bank doing a charge back rather than a hold and awaiting confirmation. Most banks know steam is a valid store, and charge backs are almost entirely user created not in the banks end.

Something isn't quite lining up here. But if it's resolved, just message Steam Support or wait.

So far I understood you contact your bank to reverse the chargeback which is good step, and you contacted support after doing so but haven't heard back yet.

Visit your tickets ensure they're still open, I assume you did inform them in your ticket that you reverse the charge back.

Now what you want to ensure, is your bank not fooling around, and did actually reverse the chargeback, but if they said they launch a investigation before they can do it then that what might be holding you up from getting your account back in order on Steam, at that point you want to talk to someone higher up for your bank, and make your complaint to them for delaying the reverse charging so they stop holding the funds, and sends it back to Steam.

But yes keep in touch with Steam, and hopefully it all resolve itself.
