Help! Deleted Fallout 4 Folder

Under User/AppData/Common/Fallout 4 I deleted the Fallout 4 folder by accident. I tried uninstalling and deleting all associated files and then re-installing from steam. Everything populates correctly except for that folder. It is now blank and I can’t figure out why. Any tips would be great, maybe even just a description of the files that are supposed to be in there.

Have you tried launching the game?

That's a typical game save location. Fallout 4 uses Steam Cloud to backup game saves but they won't sync by just installing the game.

It probably moved the install to somewhere else, if you can't find anything in that one.

Do a search on your hard drive (where your steam installs go - check in your Steam Settings area ) for some files - Fallout4Prefs.ini for instance, to see if it's anywhere already.

But try starting the game, if it runs it got moved when you reinstalled it. If it doesn't, check where it's supposed to be downloading to.

The issue has been resolved by re-installing the game and running the game from steam. Previously, I was trying to run the game from MO2. Apparently those preference files aren't created until you play from the Steam app. Thanks to everyone who gave input here. I appreciate it :).
