Need help redeeming registration code FFXIV

Hello Steam Community,

A friend gifted me a registration code for the new Final Fantasy 14 expansion, Endwalker. I believe the code must be activated on the FF14 service 'Mogstation'. However, the Mogstation gives me an error code saying I can't activate the key because I do not own the game on Steam and tells me to contact Steam Support.

I do own the base game and other expansions on Steam and I can't find the right section in the Steam Support Directory for this issue. I don't know how to proceed from here.

Just to be sure, I tried entering the code via the Steam client, but that doesn't work.

Has anyone else had this problem or, better yet, does anyone know of a solution?

Best to get help from the places more suitable for said help.

I had the same problem with another game a long time ago, sometimes you need to buy said DLC on the same platform, so, if you were to buy it on Steam it would work.
Steam wont help with third party keys, you need to solve this with the developer(s).
