is the marketplace legal?
i bought sonic adventure 1 a few days back by selling some cards and im worried ill get arrested or something is it legal?

In civilized countries, selling goods online, be it virtual or not, doesn't matter. Unless you do it in huge volumes (so commercially) and don't pay taxes. A couple of Steam cards certainly don't qualify as commercial activity.
But that would require you to actually get any money out of the sale which you don't. You get store credit on the Steam store which legislations generally don't give too much of a ♥♥♥♥ about.

Why should it be illegal? You used the Steam market and got store credit.
You used that store credit to buy something from the same store.

For starters, you'd need to actually break some federal law to get arrested. While I can imagine this being arrest-worthy in dictatorships like North Korea or China, those block Steam in the first place.

The money you made from selling the cards is real money, it just isn't money you paid into the system. Sega will still get paid.
