No. Your Steam Store will stay locked to the region its set to now.
So you keep your current currency and you can also only shop in the store you are currently using.
If you wanted to switch to the Turkey Steam Store you would need to actively switch to that store in the Steam settings.
Which is only possible if you are currently in that country AND have a registered payment method of the country you want to switch to.
So you would need to use a Turkish bank account, credit card or PayPal account.

Also you can only switch regions once every 3 months.

Your wallet and your store will stay in dollars until you change it.

Thats not a problem to fix, that was changed about a year ago.
You can now only use wallet cards with the same currency as the country your store is set to.
So as a example you cant use a Euro wallet card in Turkey.
You need to buy one with Turkish Lira on it from the start.

To prevent regional pricing abuse, users MUST have an address, a valid payment method, AND the currency of the region.
You have to meet ALL requirements to use the regional store.
If your only gonna be there temporarily, you don't need to change.

This is a stupid feature and I am thinking about closing my Steam account because of this. I'll lose everything but that's a small price to pay to battle this petty garbage. I live in Thailand and I have Paypal connected to my Steam account. It draws from my Thai card but since it has an address in the US, it won't let me use it.

I literally have to log on to my dad's computer in the states and purchase games if I want to play anything on Steam. But, Sony doesn't demand I switch to a Thai payment method. Apple doesn't demand I switch to a Thai payment method. Valve is the ONLY company I am having this issue with.

Absolutely ridiculous and not worth my time or money if they are going to be petty with this overlord nonsense about something as simple as video games.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
