3rd Party Nintendo Switch controller not working with Steam (identified as 360 controller)

Hey there, I've got a Zexrow Switch controller, using it wired as I don't have bluetooth on my computer, and it doesn't work because when I connect the controller it's identified as an xbox 360 controller. The buttons are flipped due to this, and the gyro doesn't work, tried changing settings, using big picture, using x360ce and everything else I can think of, but I can't find anything that helps.

Wondering if I need to return my controller, or if there's a way to get it working on Steam? (And PC in general)

Have you tried remapping the keys with big picture? There are other options to do that with to like AutoHotKey and even easier to use remapping utilities like anti-micro you can do that with of you'd like to try and avoid returning it.

I have a logitech F310. I rarely use it but there have been a few games I tested it on it did this kind of thing with where the controls weren't right. With the f310 it was a mode switch kind of hidden on the bottom of it, in one position windows sees it as a generic gamepad, the other position it's seen ad a dual analog and the buttons match most games.

There was another who had the same controller I believe (different name but it looks like sellers just add their name to it). I've got one on the way from this dude https://www.amazon.co.uk/ICDOT-Controller-Bluetooth-Adjustable-Compatible/dp/B089G1QNJ9. I want to see if it can connect with an 8BitDo adapter as a Switch controller and carry out some other BlueTooth experiments.

I've got the controller and it works as a Pro Controller (gyro) over BT.

On rear of controller:

I did some research on that controller. Outcome not good. Results were parts and repair tutorials. Nothing I found said anything about it being pc compatible. Have you used it on a pc before?

If it's not compatible your only options left are get a different controller that is pc compatible or use a keymapper to straighten the buttons out so they aren't flipped.

Here are the keymappers I suggested. AutoHotKey is a scripting tool. Key maping is one of many things it can do.

It works on PC. Over BT it connects as a Pro Controller, wired as an x360 controller (digital triggers though).
