Is Steam Launcher for 32-bit Windows 7 problematic, or just me?
Steam Launcher in my 32-bit, Windows 7 PC has problem with Steam connections these last few months, where the launcher won't fully load pages and connect to Friends network, but I can still play/download games, use in-game browser, and upload screenshots. Installing desktop shortcut never works as well even though I checked on the install tab.

Since I don't play online games on that weak PC, it's not really a big deal for me. But recently it seems to have a hard time loading saves, like when I play Artifex Mundi games the data is basically a new one. Got several warnings about unable to sync to Cloud, too, recently. However I can play another Cloud-supported game, Lara Croft Go, with that warning only showing up once and the data loads most of the time.

Any way to fix this? And are any of you experiencing the same thing?

32bit isn't the problem, the issue that sounds like you're having is connection issues, protocols being blocked, or 3rd party app messing with client, and files.

If you use 3rd party software to manage file and permissions, or mess with incoming, and outgoing data traffic you want to look into that.

If using VPN/proxy, or custom DNS, ensure they're not causing the issue.

If your ISP causing the problem, only way to find out is using VPN/proxy.

Now if client is the issue, to redownload it, visit where you install Steam, delete everything in Steam folder except for Steamapp folder, and steam.exe file, once done run steam.exe, and test to see if issue been resolved.

I did redownload once, it didn't fix anything. My internet is working fine. I'm not using any VPN on that PC, and my other devices use the same network, my phone and laptop (where I'm writing this from) connects to Steam just fine.

I don't think I use any 3rd party software for permissions or data traffic. But just in case, how do I check if I'm using one?

To know if you were using 3rd party app it be something you installed yourself, this can be like anti virus not windows defender, but like AVG, Norton, or whatever, and for custom data management software that was made to either block, or intercept transmission from going, in or out of your device.

If you have setup a custom firewall, such as via your modem/route ensure that not blocking things when you have set it up, unless you only using default settings then there nothing it should be blocking unless it was your ISP doing.

You can try doing these as well if you want.

- Flushing your network might fix things, open command promt as admin, and give this a try, then restart PC and test, do things in order.

netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset

If not working still try these in order, then restart, and test.

ipconfig /release
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /renew

- Also reboot modem & router by simply unpluging power cable to them for a minute, then replug power cable.

There are no antiviruses except the default one, and I don't think we had a custom firewall or anything. I'm not sure what causes this, but I remember it working perfectly last summer until few months ago I made Steam not open on startup, but I didn't touch that PC for days and when I opened it, it fails to load most pages. I have tried enabling it on startup again, to no avail. Friends network still fails.

There not much as I can recommend besides trying a DNS, using server that good for you such as cloud flair, google, or whatever, if it works, then means your network path is bonk, if used VPN service and suddenly works then points to your ISP being issue doing something.

Can also try another PC to see if getting same issue, if not getting same issue on another PC then points to your PC being issue, or network you're connecting to is the problem such as modem / router.

This best I can suggest with for bit of troubleshooting for yourself, hope something helps you out.

This is a desktop PC, so it's connected to the modem using a LAN cable. For PC/modem issues, what issues are there?

Need to add that I can open Steam browser from that PC and it works normally.

All i can think of really is being something messing with the app for it permissions, or it files but not sure as I have no way of knowing what going on with your PC really via forums if using any software that trying to mess with client have to find out why it doing that.d

If broswer works then not a lot to point to really being issue with files, or if had setup something that causing issue.

I don't think I downloaded or updated any apps or Windows system stuff besides Steam games on that PC.

Update: I still cannot fix the Friends network or loading pages, but cloud saves are normal again. The solution is kinda wack. I turned off GPU accelerated rendering for web views and ran as admin.
