cant install anything, settings reset every time i close steam
i cant install any game i have the normal way. if i try it shows an error that says
"An error occured when installing <game> (disk write error)"
regardless of game, and every time i close steam my settings reset

i dug into the folder where steam is installed (i changed the install folder from C:\Program Files (x86)\ to D:\) and for some reason "Read-Only" is checked (but it shows a black square instead of a normal checkmark)

also every tiem i open steam it gives me an error that says the install folder is corrupted or something and when i click repair the error appears and if i click ignore steam works just fine (except for the part where i cant install games)

pls help idk what to do :steamsad:

Delete the folder from your libraries and re-make it. Sounds very much like you disk is dying though.

In settings, where you manage your libraries, delete the library, then delete the folder, then try re-making the library through Steam.

it doesnt give me the option to delete it
the only library folder i have is on D: and thats my primary library folder
the startup error mentions the steam install folder, but it mentions something about library folders not functioning or something along hte lines of that

Is Steam on D too? Your drive is dying then mate, that’s why Steam can’t even save its settings.

You can try delete all "appmanifest" files in steamapps, but before that copy somewhere these "appmanifest" files
