Really need help getting back my items
Hello. Recently I started chatting with a person that randomly added me. He wanted to trade with me and wanted to trade a lot of my tf2 items for some tf2 keys. He said that he needed to check to see if the items werent glitched. This seemed like a normal scam, BUT he said to send a trade of all those items to a friend I know. I did that and when I tried confirming it, the steam mobile app started rejecting my confirmations and then the trade just went through. I asked my friend why she confirmed it and she said she didnt, but those items were gone from my inventory and they werent in my friends inventory. The trader then sent me a "steam admins" profile yet he seems VERY fishy. I am so confused becouse my steam account was guarded in every way (I even changed the password), the trade was with my friend who i trust and they are just gone!
Am I just an idiot and I got scammed, or is this something else. Thank you for your help.

It's a scam, but you already know that. You can't get your items back.

Your account is hijacked.

There is no need to check anything.
Your account was already compromised at this point.
While you were getting your phone, the trade was cancelled and remade with a new target.
You confirmed that new trade.

It's one of the oldest scams out there and you fell for it.

The items are gone.

Nope. A bot copy/pasted your friends profile to an account the scammer controlled and redirected the trade to there. You then confirmed that trade with Steam Guard. You got scammed. Your items are gone and will sadly not be returned.

Because you did not trade them to your friend. You gave a phishing site you login details. That allowed them to access your account. It then modified their account to look like your friends and resent the trade all with a few seconds so you didn't notice a delay.

Your skins are gone. Report the account that received them, block, move on and stop

Logging in on dodgy sites
Believing stupid messages on your profile
Confirming trades Without paying attention to the warnings and checking them.

Read the message they left on your profile and you'll see the obvious warnings.

1. Valve wouldn't hijack a profile to contact you.
2. 24 hours? From when? That could have been 25 hours ago or 1 minute ago.
3. Do police give you change to move money, drugs, murder weapons before they arrest you? No they don't. They'll arrest you first and you'd have to challenge them.
4. What is the point of locking an account if they tell you to move valuables?
5. Just look at the grammatical errors in the last line. We are allowing you this time to send your valuables skins (either Valuables but no skins or valuable skins) to a friend or storage account

And now you've learned not to talk to strangers and offer up your items on a silver platter. Items can't be "bugged".

Steam does not return inventory items or wallet funds: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=3415-WAFH-6433#noreturn

Also, because of the groups you're in, you might as well do all these to secure your account:

1. Scan for malware https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Deauthorize all other devices https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
3. Change passwords from a clean computer
4. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
5. Revoke the API key https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey - This field should be blank

Do NOT trade until your account is secured.
Thank you to all people who replied. I was an idiot and i paid for it. May this be a lesson to everyone,

Given all those who came before you with similar lessons for others to learn from, I doubt it.
