Bought the base game instead of the deluxe
So I've been playing a family-shared game called Kingdom Come: Deliverance for a month now, but it suddenly became an issue with my sharer as they started playing more steam games recently.

I had already planned to buy the game a while ago, given how much I love the style of the game and enjoy playing it, but when I went to buy it, I instinctively bought the base game for $30 but didn't forgot the fact that I'd been playing on the dlc version the whole time which is $40 (base game included). I went to look at the dlc itself to see about buying that, but it is $30 in total, so that'd be $60 in total for the base game and dlc bought separately vs just paying $40 for the deluxe edition. I asked steam support about this already, but it seems like they blew up my request as wanting a refund for a game I have over 300 hours on. I just want the deluxe edition.

Would it help if I bought the deluxe edition now and asked for a refund on the base game after or am I am just stuck with my goof?

Will still be 300 hours for the playtime counter.

You can try shopping around for a Steam key for the DLC collection though, i seen it on offer in stores for as low as 10 Euro or so, that just adds the DLC.

Most likely stuck, all play time including family shared playtime counts towards the refund limit. Buying the deluxe edition wouldn't help you get a refund on the base edition.

If everything else fails, you can upgrade to the complete edition yourself.

I mean the problem isn't that I can't upgrade... it's that it'll cost more to get the dlc separately than it would have been to just get the deluxe, but I did find a dlc deal for $20, so I'd only be paying $10 more than I would have, but I'll prolly just do that

Look for the Royal Upgrade dlc pack which is cheaper than buying the dlc seperately.

I was too angry at steam to go with the dlc bundle or the dlc separately. I just bought it from CDkey for around the same price I would've paid for had I just done the royal edition from the get-go. Thanks for your tips and help.
