I don't think so... i tried it on a different free game and it didn't work either

If it's blocking for more than one game, it's a you issue.

If you playing through Windows 10, try download older version of DirectX (9) :

Else if you playing through Mac disable the steam overlay this should be fixed. Just go to Steam>Preferences>InGame and toggle off the steam overlay.
