They are trying to delay you until your refund window expires. In the future use reputable sites, there is a reason the name is filtered, they deal in shady and stolen keys
People should really stop spreading misinformation. I don't use that site anymore and use humble instead or buy games on sale but Steam support does give out the key's activation date if you ask. The site name is censored for a reason OP. Avoid using it next time.
Or maybe previously the grey market site asked for the date and the account who activated it, which I definitely don't think Steam will provide account info to a random users request. If grey market sites have changed their script to only be the activation date then maybe... that could be innocuous enough.
