PSA: Make desktop shortcut start other launcher options.
This is just a PSA as it is a very poorly(not at all) documented feature of steam, and I'm sure there's at least one other person on the internet(or google) looking for an answer to this.

For games that start a launcher in steam where you select what executable to run, when you create a shortcut, it will always default to the first option, however you can actually make it point to any of the other options fairly easily, point the URL to: steam://launch/[GameID]/option#

For example, lets say I want to make Tabletop Simulator start in OpenGL through the shortcut. I'd simply make the shortcut into: steam://launch/286160/option3 and now it always starts in OpenGL.

"It's not working!"
Make sure that the URL isn't steam://rungameid/286160/option3 as rungameid does not support option parameters. it MUST be launch/.

Secondary PSA, you can see the ID of steam games by right-clicking it in your library, pressing properties, then updates. You want the AppID.

I've been searching for such a possibility every once in a while to no avail. Until I stumbled upon this thread by accident…
So thank you !
You're welcome, I'm glad I managed to help at least one other person!
