Any way to bypass SSL error on self-signed certificate?

I wrote a API that has a media server and a bunch of other things I use SSH to basically take everything with me... it uses a self-signed SSL certificate. Steam web browser totally rejects the website and does not have any way to ignore the invalid SSL certificate. No ignore/continue option.

Is there any way around this?

But that requires a domain, right? I'm just running off localhost.
