Did you install your chipset driver?
What other software do you have installed, particularly stuff that runs in the background like anti-virus?
Are you pulling your game files from backups, or downloading them fresh?
Bit of a long shot, but is there an update available for your BIOS/UEFI?
Which M.2 drive do you have? Depending on which one, try Samsung Magician or Crucial Storage Executive. This will also allow you to upgrade drive firmware and set over-provisioning.
Did you do all the Windows updates?
Clean install, the drive was formatted
Yep, all drivers, chipsets, graphics card software are on the latest available versions.
None as of yet, so far the only security stuff on my system is the built in defender, but even with that disabled the problems still occur
They are fresh installs, I carried nothing over from my last OS, steam, the games, drivers etc all downloaded fresh

Yeah, essentially all I have done since installing windows 10 is install steam, potplayer and filters for surround sound, run windows update, install nvidia drivers and geforce, been trying to get the things I use most up and running before I worry about adding anything else, but so far no joy
Give this a shot. Check drive health and upgrade the firmware.
Try installing Steam outside of the Program Files (x86) folder. Something like C:/Steam should be fine.

Try this. It runs at boot and takes a few hours. If you get errors, no need to continue the test. Maybe swap the slots your RAM is sitting in. (Instead of 2 & 4, try 1 & 3) Ensure the XMP profile is enabled.
Full check on cables in your machine. Everything plugged in securely?

all this is seen as your problem to update and test if they work better for you.
dont expect all the diffrent hardware on every user agree with you, and that why MS dont make a Global update tool, hence your problem to deal with it.
do note build nr can change everytime on current this info was made then i had issue with it.
so dont waste time correct my build nr version then its still newest signed MS build version that wins.

as i told you, you need to be a expert in MS and they dont force this on every MS pc becase if they make a mistake then ½ of earth cant get something to work.

VC+++ is about performance, do note uninstall all previous first, then run all-in-one driver
just because it work on my pc dont mean you cant get issue with it, and i bet you can understand why i wrote this with steam 250 to 350 million of user, or 1 billion steam account, there is no way i can help all if it dont work for you.
feel free to uninstall all again and use MS only support link and not total latest newest from techpower if you got more issue with it. but you forgot newest is also signed by MS.
but dont kid yourself here what do steam knows and game devs know about newest MS VC+++

dont forget run as admin doing the VC+++ install
this is about game crash not why you have validate issue.

and win7 has SSL issue same time, so other things can effect that.

sure i can say it, steam are not MS experts and same can be said with game devs.
you need to be a microsift educate person to know such.
again we can assume so many things here. they are seen as users own problem
point is they work in safe boot mode , that smell like interference or as i say it security app block you, because that is the most frequent cause why it block it.

I had opened a steam support ticket and if the reply I got is indicative of the standard "help" we can expect that is very disappointing. I kept the ticket concise, I used bullet points to outline the problems and then a few bullet points to say the steps I had already tried and what the result was.
This morning I got a reply saying " It sounds like your Steam Client is crashing, Steam Client crashes can be caused by a variety of things, so please go through our Steam Client Troubleshooting article for probable fixes." I know thats copy/paste from their script but wholly unhelpful
Then they completely glossed over everything I said in the ticket and simply said , "If the problem still exists after completing those steps, please submit a few of your latest "crash_steam.exe..." minidumps with your next reply" even though that ticket had every available log, minidump and the required system.vdf, so they didnt offer any advice, ignored the problems I described and despite not giving me anything new to work with and already having 2 days worth of records they told me to repeat steps I have already tried and which they can see the results of in the logs and then "if" the problem still happens to include logs with my next ticket. I know its not the individual employees fault, but that's a very poor first impression
As for the help in this thread so far
My drive is fine, the sabrent control panel shows health at 100%, already on latest firmware, no discernible issues on that.
I have updated all of the visual-c packages. There were 2 that were not installed on this OS, but with the inclusion of those my problems are still the exact same.
I again made sure windows defender allows both the steam client and the games themselves, and also tried steam itself and launching a few games with defender/firewall turned off, still same thing happens.
so I guess next step is to test my RAM and maybe have to re-install steam and re-download the games all over again, either way I am likely to lose many more hours trying to figure this out. I really wish i had just stuck with windows 7, I knew 10 was a bad idea. Wish me luck please
we did see many had issue with wi10 then it was new and hot, and it took some times to learn why it not work for all , and it was all because of old win7 app and its driver and option.
today that info is gone, more a lost in the time and now been seen as user own problem.
stop use that outdate system i doubt you have hardware there is so old that win10 dont have new drivers to them from then brand name support, ms dont make other brand drivers.
man i hope you get this, nothing wrong in old pc with win 7 and whatever it is you want to use it for but the security and other things later, thats a NO go today, and i dont even have to tell you that its common knowledge, even Microsoft told you years ago about time to update.
and thats the problem with steam support, threy can only reply out from what they do support adn they have not stopped support with win7 and8 and vista and yet all know vista is dead by MS. so you end up with a half support untill they give up or cant anymore and they already got issue with last SSL issue.
again we are over in what happend and when win7 can be a serious security issue in use it.
and it will be user own problem for consequence and all things down that road. not sure insuration will cover it or bank someday wil say thats your problem for use it, cant say it ever will come to that worst senario, but why not.
same as dont get caught doing something wrong, aient that the problem here, if just use it, is the cause.
I am sorry but that is factually incorrect. windows 7 is not a "serious security issue", you could still be running xp and be perfectly fine if you know what you are doing, the bulk of the security of a system comes from the users actions and 3rd party programs, so unless you run an old os and depend entirely on its default security tools and spend your time clicking dodgy download links on dodgy websites then old OS are no more risky than modern ones. Relying on "microsoft said so" is not an argument, of course they are going to tell you to change, windows 10 brings in more money for them since its no longer free, plus with the built in ads and telemetry that cannot be disabled it allows them to collect more of your personal data than ever before. A company telling you to buy their latest product means literally means nothing more than "we want more money"
Also I am not sure you understood my other posts, I already have done a fresh install of 10, that is the start of all these problems. I formatted my m.2, did a clean install of windows 10 and so far have not been able to get a single program running smoothly.
you dont graps what can happend later stop defend win7, even i have it for years, this is not a attack on once was this is here and now.
have you OC pc, seen plenty of turbo ram bios setyp somehow later cause system issue, again you are over in old pc and what happend later. depend on who you talk with and waht experience they have learn over many years,
even i have seen turbo mode work for years and later cause more issue with heayvier system and how in the hell do you want to explan that to other that dont see eye to eye in what you have learn, and i cant be the only one that learn such and maybe i am.
to my knowledge them athat work with support , normaly aient here, and who said they want to reply to other ppl also. so its your problem to test stability and its BIOS and its Driver and chipset from board support place or brand name support place.
as i said you need to have experience and it sounds like you got it from win7, nothing has change still you that need to do the footwork here.
Yes, nvidia drivers and geforce were installed fresh on windows 10 and are on the latest available versions
man go check lifecycle on win7 , you issue is not with me, but you and what MS did.
and you sit and argue with someone that seen so many apps with security issue and you want proof, get you fact strait in what happend in win7, in what other apps or thirdpart app did for not updating. ( you will lose every argument and you are not skilled enough to even graps what you say.
you are stock in the past , hence why steam support ask you to do that, so they can judge whats wrong and sametime maybe not a steam problem and it ends there.
but there it is. gl with whatever system you do. it aient a steam problem and other user problem in what you do. dont expect other user to even suggest or help you on system many dont have anymore.
maybe you have not seen other post with win7 issue. and why steam might want to brand every OS on every user so we dont have to help none supported system.
steam actual is the issue here. on that subject. i bet it will take under 2 sec for every user on steam to ignore dead outdate system.
Some games, like mk11 launch but I cannot connect to the servers
steam wont help you, other will not help you now, we are not here to fix not support system.
sounds like a win7 migration failur to win10
feel free to check other online games and ruleout, own game devs server can be down sametime.
