Can you use gift card to pay 5 dollars to steam and will it work?
I was wondering if gift cards can too work like credit cards cause I want people add friends but it needs me to pay off a credit card so my question is can you pay 5 dollars from a gift card just to add friends?

If you receive a gift card and spend the money it will not work. You either need to spend this amount or more in the Steam Store with your own verified payment method or adding wallet funds from an external source i.e retail.
