Play on the same account, same time, different games?
I have 2 PC's in my home. One for my nerdiness and one for my wifes work. When I am playing on mine, my kids can't play on hers. Is there anyway around this? I get that if they let this happen all the time, there would be 1 steam account and we'd all share it. I just feel like we are using the same IP address in the same house. I shouldn't have to rebuy a game so my kids and I can play at the same time. I'm sure this isn't possible, but let me know. Thanks.

You are not even allowed to give anyone access to your account.

Could always just family share to another account.

I am unaware of this. I can create them an account and give them access to my games?

I can put 5 people on 5 continents behind the same IP address at the same time. It's not a useful or valid thing for Valve to check.

How is this helpful? Seriously. Happy people don't waste their time on comments like this. I hope you made yourself feel superior all knowing genius.

Well you seemed to believe having the same IP could be used as a magic solution, and it's helpful for that ignorance to be addressed. After all, unchallenged, people love repeating ignorant and convenient nonsense.

Your response reads pretty hostile for no reason.

You can't share your account like want. Even with family sharing, you won't be able to play games at the same time from a single library. Make a Steam account for your kids and buy games for it. That's the expectation.

If you want to push an idea, it helps to support it with valid arguments. Valve knows it's trivial to make things appear from the same IP, so when they read your suggestion this argument will not add any weight. You may want to try thinking of or collecting better arguments to support your suggestion, leading to a successful implementation. If it never gets implemented, at least you can take solace in knowing at least one reason why not. But sure, if you don't find any of that helpful, well, sorry.

Anyway, second account, family share, put your main account offline. Then you can play more than one game from the same account. Is that better? Alternatively, start buying your games on their own steam accounts. One account, one game. You'll lose all the social stuff, but gain complete freedom on how and where to play.

If you’re going to be an ass to people trying to help, I’ll just report you for account sharing.
