Graphics settings change automatically
If I don't play a game for weeks or months and it just simply stays installed in my local drives then is it possible that it changes its graphics settings automatically to default ?? It actually happened with me in few games (not all games ) , I've seen for some games that they change their settings to default if I don't play them for weeks / months. I haven't deleted any temp files neither did any cleanups so why is this happening ??

If the game keeps updating than yes. Everytime my game got updated it changed his settings to default.

Could also de game devs fault , whatever they test it with get into the patch again, ask them ,this is seen forced overwrite, most game devs do not make such mistake but that depend on how game devs did it save game / config files.

I've got a couple of games that lose the graphics settings every time I update my GPU drivers.

This was a major issue for me when RDR2 first came out on pc. With my old pc, I had to spend quite a bit of time tuning the settings for optimal performance vs quality, then every update BOOM, reset. After it happened twice in like a week I just took pictures of my settings so it'd be quick to go back.
