Recovering a very valuable account without access to the original email
I have an old steam account with 5 figures worth of tf2 unusuals in it, purchased with my moms credit card before I really understood money - when I was caught, I stupidly deleted the email account associated with the steam account. I do not know the login name nor have access to the email account. I know the complete billing info, and the name of the email account, but I can't access it. Steam support is also saying the billing info isn't enough proof because I used the same info for another account. Just posting this to see if anyone knows of a way to help - if any of you can help me get back in, I'll happily gift you an unusual. Steam ID of the account in question: http://steamcommunity.com/id/reddwhim

Do you know your mom's credit card number of that time?

yes, although this was deemed insufficient evidence by support as the number is linked to multiple accounts.

There's also no steam guard linked to that account, right?

Have you tried to provide them with the email accounts name?

What did they deem sufficient?

yes - all i know about the account is the email name and the billing info, both of which i have submitted together on a support ticket.

Support are the only people who can help you. You need to supply them with the exact info they require. If you do not have that info, you need to explain why not and see if they will accept an alternative.

Unfortunately, if neither of these work then it's time to wave the account goodbye and consider it a lesson learned.

If you somehow can recover your email everything would be easier. Its hard situation. We can't do it without steam support. Try to remove credit card number from other accounts, so it will left linked only on your old account. Also if you live in same place before losing your account tell support to check log in history.

they didn't respond with anything as helpful as that - they simply said the info i supplied (email account and billing info) was insufficient, and closed the ticket.

Give them the account id, an approximate of when you both created and stopped using the account, the email's address, and the credit card number, that should be enough

I know support are the only ones that can ultimately restore access, but as everyone knows they are robotic and infuriating to deal with. Just putting this discussion post up to see if a user with experience with an issue like this can help, as i can at least have human discussion with you guys.

Maybe, you can get them some info on the devices that you used to log in to that account from, idk what they could get to need, ask them.
