Can't buy a game because I own it, but it's just the free weekend offer

A friend wants to gift me Endless Space 2 taking advantage of the 50% off offer currently on, but can't, because I apparently own the game after I installed it taking advantage of the free weekend. It's not in my library (I see only Endless Space 1), but my friend sees me owning it and can't gift. I'd rather take advantage of the offer while it lasts. Please help me. Of course, there is no way to contact Steam Support directly.

Remove the free weekend from here https://store.steampowered.com/account/licenses/

Then buy it.

also when removing the free games delet any files of it left behind so that the steam nows you no longer have it when you restart the pc because the files left behind are more than likely to interfear with the gifted one and steam will remember them files of it most places be documents and 86 to find the files and delet them befor downloading a gifting of a same game that whas free trial

The game files are exactly the same in the free weekend version. No need to delete them.

License should already be removed as the free weekend title is no longer on the free weekend.

At this moment, my friend still has 30 mins left in the trial, hence the inquiry
I can't gift him the game so I've been looking up some ways
