but the website is asking me to link my steam account to humble bundle
why they want me to link my steam account to humble bundle instead of giving me a key for example ?
any risk ?
what info they will got ?

also can i unlink my steam account from humble bundle after i get the game in my steam library ?

Zero risk. They will only get an API key which will give them in no way control over your account, the only thing they can do is verify that it's your account.

If you link both accounts and buy a Bundle where you already own several games, then you get nothing from them. If you're unlinked, you get a steam key for each game -owned or not- that you can gift to anyone as you please. So it's not a good idea to link your account.

I've never encountered that and I've had my Steam account linked to Humble for a long time now. I still get keys for games that I already own on Steam.

Not true. I recently purchased bundles on Humble and simply got the keys for games I already owned. I gifted them to friends.

All linking does is make it easier to redeem games on Steam.

There's no risk in linking your Steam account anywhere, to be honest. All a third party gets is a) a way to identify that particular Steam account and b) all publicly available information from the profile. That's it.

What ever zosete said here is completely false. Humble always gives you exactly what they advertise. You can even rebuy bundles a dozen times. They might inform you that you already bought that bundle and require you to confirm the purchase but they will still hand you out your produts.

I have my Steam Account linked with HB for a long time now and I very rarily encounter any bundle where I do not have any games and I always received the entrie bundle.

Good to know. Although Humble Bundle informed me that it wouldn't give me a new COPY of a game I already owned in Steam. So it may give you the key in any case. Thanks for the acclaration and my apologies.

Also, unlinking is a click away. I know because all my necro and my search were due to a free game in HB that was redeemable only if you linked both accounts. I linked my account, got my new game -via a KEY, so you're probably right, but since I didn't own it before I can't confirm- and immediately unlinked.

Humble doesn't say that. What you keep referring to is the disclaimer that *Steam* won't provide you with an additional giftable copy of the game:

Steam will not provide extra giftable copies of games you already own.

Humble *always* gives keys. They are a key re-seller. They have no way of seeing, giving, or taking away games directly to your Steam account. It's always a key redemption.

These links don't do anything, so yes -- they are safe.

Now, I don't know what an "HC trader" is -- however, most people describing themselves as "traders" on Steam are vulnerable to account hijacks. When your Steam account is hijacked, accounts that are linked to it might be hijacked as well. Which might not be an issue for Humblebundle accounts, though, provided you redeem your keys after you buy them.
