Buy giftcard - paying from steam wallet?

Hey guys..
Its my brothers birtday today, and i want to buy him a Steam gift card,
I have about 50$ in my steam wallet and thats what i would like to spend..
But the problem is, when i go to the store, and proceed to the payment site, i cannot chose steam wallet.. I can only use paypal or credit cards to pay for the gift card?
Can that be right???

Correct. Only external souces of payment can be used.

That really sucks, and doesnt make any sense?
I just sold alot of game skins and trading cards through steam to buy him a gift card xD

yea thanks, but its only possible to give away Games as a gift, im more interrested in giving him a gift card, so he can chose himself :)

It's not possible and is not going to happen. Letting people transfer wallet is a massive headache between fraudulently purchased funds and hijackers transferring funds and the like. People would start selling off wallet for real life money and with it would come related scams.

I thought the same when the option to get gift cards directly from Steam Store appeared.
Unfortunately it isn't possible to buy only with any other payment methods that are in your region, not from Steam Wallet.

now I don´t know how the gift card money went to a wallet account
and can´t use it, wanted also to buy an electronic card for a birthday gift, I´m not a player.
