Warning for people who want to use the Steamtrades website
Hello people.

Recently I wanted to trade steam keys for a game I want, I went to steamtrades to trade it, and was subsequently bamboozled by a certain user there. I wont start out a witch hunt, because that's not my concern. Instead I will write here what others should look for when looking to trade.

The user I traded with, looked solid. He had nothing but good reviews on his profile. After I got scammed, I left a negative reply. This reply is now removed with a message "The community voted to remove your negative review for this user." and I can't place a new negative review on this person. If you only see positive reviews, dont believe it. . Vote manipulation is a real thing. My message only said "Dont trade, he is a scammer".

Secondly, once I realised I was scammed, I checked this guys profile, on steam. You can check their previous Aliases. profiles with lots of name changes in a single day are beyond reasonable doubt scammers . Why would a sane person without malicious intent change his name more than 20 times a day if not for scamming?

Thirdly, never trust anyone. They will tell you what you offer is not going to sell, or trade etc, instead they will give you good deals and etc. I lost 20 euros to the bastard, well, lesson learned. Expensive lesson, but I fell for it myself. I hope that this will help future people when they consider trading on steamtrades dont do it . It is a website that is not backed by Steam itself, so there is nothing anybody can do when you get scammed.

Please stay safe, and I hope what I wrote here doesn't break any rules. I only want to help others by preventing what happened to me.

I feel bad for you I really do, I got scammed once and I know how it feels, hope the guy who scammed you burn in hell, thanks for this advice tho.
Sorry to necro this thread, but had to reply to this.
I personally don't like the new way to handle negative reputation comments on steamtrades. It used to be handled and investigated solely by moderators directed to do so. Having the community decide is ridiculous and opens the door to suppression, and more, all being negative outcomes and or consequences. With that said, I have a few hundred positive rep comments and no negative. I had one negative removed through the old process I described above. It took a few weeks but was removed and rightfully so. Many are greedy. Scammers are anywhere they have a opportunity. But please remember people like myself, who are honest and fair do exist.
Also, unless something changed relatively recently, valve was never a backer and or in any way related to steam and valve, other than using the public api. Iirc.
Anyway, I hope your next experience is a Positive One!

Yeah, that site has no affiliation with Valve at all.

I got pursuited by two users and one impersonator on that webpage. The funiest thing is that they were claiming I traded keys from other games outside steam platform. I asked for help in the past with the moderators and they just leave it away. The OP is not the only one who had bad experiences on that place.

The reason your negative review would've got removed is that it didn't contain any proof that you got scammed. If you were to include screenshots of your chats as proof, then it would've been taken more seriously. Otherwise, how is anyone to know that you haven't made it up?
20 euro expensive lesson?

😁😁😁 omg!

Sorry but ROFL!

Ont: yes never use scamsites!

I got scammed of BS, and everyone should take the advice seriously to not use 3rd party sites.
