Well, what is the default audio output set to right now?

Seriously, a reboot and then going into your Sound settings, making sure the correct hardware is selected - should be easy to sort this out.

Steam streaming certainly isn't the right device if you aren't streaming.

Better to disable all unused Input and Output devices in Sound Settings.
It would be less confusing.

I will put in my two cents I just had this happen and what it did was switch my audio to a non existent source so I just set it back to the display it was hooked up to before hope this helps someone

If playing on steam deck:
  • Go to desktop mode

  • Start your remote play game

  • Press AND hold Steam+Dpad Left (this is a keyboard “ESC” key press and hold)

  • When the Steam Link UI comes up, unmute your streaming mic

  • Enjoy voice chat

Steam Link seems to revert this to a muted state every time you start a remote play game and so you will have to repeat this process every time. ALSO this feature seems to be unavailable in Game Mode and so you will need to play your remote session from desktop mode in order for this to work.

Hi! Better create your own thread (add details, and what you tried so far)

Have you checked the primary audio device?

It never ceases to amaze me how tech illiterate people are.
