Trying to get a refund on Sea of Thieves
Hello I have been trying to get a refund for my Sea of thieves game I purchased two days ago Sunday. When I try and do the refund through the steam support website, I keep on getting a response that because I played the game for more than 6 hours I cannot get a refund due to thier policy. Sunday the game servers for SOT were down so I spent 5 hours trying to log into the game and was unable to play so I do not think those should count as playable hours. Yesterday, Monday, I was able to log on for the first time and realized that I was not able to run the game on my computer, after playing about 10 minutes of the tutorial. Then I requested a refund and it keeps on saying that I cannot get a refund because I played more than 2 hours. Again I want to repeat that I was not playing the game I was trying to log on but the servers were down. Please contact me and let me know if there's any way I can get a refund. Thank you for your time.

The more hours you have, the less likely you'll receive a refund.

You can wait patiently on maintenance for their servers, or you can click "I have a question about this purchase", if Steam says no, that is the final word on the matter.

2 Hours / 2 Weeks, that is the policy. They could be generous about it, but it's ultimately up to them. Whatever the answer is using that link, is ultimately the final word on the matter.

Darn, it would be nice to talk to a human on their end because I'm sure they would understand that I didn't really play, bummer...

That's what "I have a question about this purchase" is; a human review.

Yup. Submit the manual refund request. Explain in simple terms and wait for the reply. Note that they don’t give unlimited exceptions to the refund rules.

Every minute the game is running is considered play time. If you start up the game and walk away from computer for 6 hours, those 6 hours still count as play time.

I really appreciate your help everyone, especially Mr. Gentlebot. I am submitting another request through the "I have a question about this purchase" tab. Hopefully the human review will help my case. Thanks again.
