Slow download speeds for games but I have a good connection and fast download speeds
I'm trying to download a game but its saying its going to take about two days to download and other games in my library say almost the same amount of time from a day or two to 8-10 hours. I checked my internet connection and its great. I have Ethernet and my download speeds are fast to. How can i fix this?

Steam -> Settings -> Downloads

You'll realize that there are a number of options that can limit or slow your downloading speed on steam, my guess is that some limiting options come as default. That's the first place you should look for a solution.

If that doesn't work, there's also the possibility of interference. Try locating other services that may be using your internet and have a higher preference than steam. Closing streaming services, other downloads/uploads in your browser or even sharing your internet connection with other people might help.

Hope it helps! :wololo:

Check your disk status while you download
Sometimes your internet have high download rate but the problem in the disk writing

disk status is only like 1%, i have read and tried everything I can find and still cant get any speed over 1.4MB. It doesnt make sense. something is throttling the speed somewhere.

Change dL zone , thats ISP and there partners into steam or back from them. to my knowledge no steam server run at 100%

https://store.steampowered.com/stats/content/
dont forget show US stats, if you are from there.

steam dont have DL issue, no server in RED
could be so rude and say all isp and there partners is full of crap. and they have congested network.

you might not have own isp issue but down the line with partners it is.

ps.
wifi and VPN only add more latency and jumps ( path through net), thats not even debatable.

ps.
and no i will not explan own PC issue that user dont have free room or disk write issue then its not a DL issue but other pc issue read other post about that.

and no, i'm not a steam defender here, its a network point of view.

Which ISP are you using?
It might be throttled by ISP.

I have 1Gbps with Comcast in California.

But I think my best download speed on steam was 300-400Mbps.
It's much faster than Playstation and Nintendo.
But Xbox was faster as best rate as over 700Mbps.

Hey bro. It may depend not only on the Internet. The computer itself can also affect this. If the computer is weak and old, it will work slowly and load everything for a long time. Try clearing some memory, deleting everything you don't need. In general, clean your computer a bit. If it does not work, look something on the Internet, maybe something will happen.
