IT WON'T LET ME POST A NEW GROUP CHAT ICON - FEBRUARY 2022

I found a picture that I wanted to use for my group chat but for some reason it won't let me.

I tried restarting the computer, turning it off and on again, waiting a day, and trying different images but for some reason it won't let me change it.

This also goes for other group chats I want to change too. It keeps coming with the message "A SERVER ERROR OCCURED".

When i try to add an icon for my steam Chat group i get an Error: "A server error occured".
Its been like that for over a year or even longer.
Valve please.

i have same problem, and it is very stupid, i getting message "A SERVER ERROR OCCURED" any time last few months when i trying change my group icon

As of today, this issue still happening, can't change either pic nor rename, nothing.

vavle has definitly forgot they even have group chats as a feature, and it hasn't been working for a year. What a competent company.

Doesn't work for me either. I already followed the troubleshooting steps. I also tried doing it from the web browser at https://steamcommunity.com/chat/ and then go to Group Settings (I'm the admin of the group), and then click "Add Icon".

"Error: A server error occurred."

The image is 512 x 512 px PNG file.
Tried uploading a 256 x 256 px PNG file, got the same error.
Tried uploading JPG file, got the same error, too.

I contacted support about this and got a friendly but unsatisfying reply. They couldn’t give me a timeline for a possible fix and it sounds to me, as if the team isn’t really paying attention. It’s been at least six! years now. Crazy.
