Tekken 7 gift error

So i gifted my friend tekken 7. Everything looks smooth untill he presses the "Add to library" button. Only then this happens:

"Sorry, an error has occurred:

This item cannot be added to your library because it is restricted from your country."

PS: Both accounts are argentinian.

You bought a non-Argentinian gift from a shady third-party seller.

Buy the gift on Steam. Afterwards, see if that shady seller advertised the gift as restricted in Argentina. If yes, your loss. If no, refund/chargeback.

I actually bought the gift through steam and there's nothing says that the game is restricted or not.

Yup. Basically, the 3 locations have to match:
-the Steam store location setting
-the payment method address
-where you actually are

Otherwise, ♥♥♥♥ can go wrong due to anti-fraud protections in place due to people abusing regional pricing differences in masses, as recently happened with the Argentinan Steam store.

one of my friends has a US account but he's not actually in the USA. and his friend gifted him a game who lives in the USA. for them everything went good.

anyway does a vpn work in this case?

The thing is, if you're doing unsupported stuff, everything may go well, or may in fact not go well.

means ♥♥♥♥ can go wrong. ♥♥♥♥ doesn't have to go wrong, but it can very well go wrong. Rule of thumb: if you operate outside of the supported/safe limits, be prepared for ♥♥♥♥ to go wrong unexpectedly (and usually when you really need it the least).

That would be using a VPN to fake your location to take advantage of regional pricing which is forbidden by the SSA meaning Valve can ban your account to hell & back for breaking contract.

Here a solution can do OP if not able to do region game gifting. Send Steam wallet gift funds to the person and they buy it on their account.

Also do not use VPN to spoof location for buying things on Steam as it's against Steam terms of service. You want to avoid breaking Steam terms of service as they could lock your account that why not good ideal to do VPN.

Not sure why your friend made an US account to begin with.

Isn't Argentina restricted from sending those gifts cards to anyone outside their country as well?

Physical gift cards have these restrictions, but not apply to Steam digital gifting, I don't remember if digital gift card is affected specifically for Argentina, OP can try it out as it will give a message if can't do it, so no harm for an OP to check it out really.

You need to be Steam friends for a minimum of 3 days.

just added him yesterday only to gift him we played lotta time without noticing that we're not steam friends. also what do you mean sus
