Linked my credit card and as expected, Steam charged me 1$ but they haven't returned it in 3 months
Title says it all, this is really annoying because when I go to my banking app I always see that pending 1$, it's been 3 months. What do I need to do to steam return me that 1$?

Just contacted them. Apparently the money is on hold until next month which is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ but it's just 1$ so it's fine, Thanks

When verification for cards happens the money never actually leaves a persons account. It's a token charge. A small amount, $1, is charged to a persons account. Like all other payments that money then enters a pending stage.

During the pending stage a person cannot use the $1 though it hasn't actually left the account. The pending stage could take several days to complete.

On normal purchases once complete the money moves from pending stage and it's transferred to the other company. however with these verification checks when the verification process is complete the pending status is cancelled and the fund are released back to the account owners available balance.

The money left the account so there is nothing to refund.

Same sort of things happen when people refund things shortly after buying them. Funds in the pending stage get cancelled before the transaction is completed. As money never left the account there is nothing to refund in these situations either.

Your bank has rather extreme hold times.

Agreed, that is insane. Usually it's hours or days, not weeks.

What Steam does it pulls the $1, then reverts it sending that $1 back to you all in a minute. The transaction of returning funds on your bank can take hours to couple days to update showing that your $1 return, or that some banks remove transactions that are basically cancelled.

But since you said your bank putting an insane delay to get your $1 back, that sounds kind of crazy, I mean 4 month??? That kind of way too extreme for your bank to be doing that, if you ask me. At least your $1 is coming back to you.
