how to hide some games from steam friends
so there's a few games i want to download/play, but don't want my friends knowing about (reason is irrelevant) and... i don't know how to hide certain games? i know that i can appear as offline in order to not show what i'm currently playing, but when viewing my profile my friends can still see my time that i've put into games recently, is there a way to hide that for certain games without setting my entire profile to private?

(sorry if this doesn't belong here, i'm new to the non-game forums, and this seems like the place where people ask questions)

Downloading games does not affect your recently played list. Only playing any game in your library will do.

You can edit your game privacy settings by clicking on this link.

yeah, but see, i'm going to be PLAYING the games, not just downloading them to have them sit in my library. yeah, i should've worded my question better, sorry 'bout that. i reworded it slightly to clarify exactly what i wanted to know.

I've added a link to where you can edit your privacy settings in the first reply; but you can only hide your entire game library.

Usually it'll be accessible through your profile edit settings.

so there's no way to just make certain games not show up. alright then, i guess.

If it's a game that can be family-shared, create a private account for playing that game.

EDIT: Or do the hours "clocked" also get shared between both accounts? I'm not sure ... ?!?

Maybe take this to steam suggestion, if user what to hide tic tac toe , cant see why this should not be allowed.

and other games we might not tell other we waste time on.

how will you justify 2000 hours in tic tac toe.
you might want to block or freeze time 100+ hour in that game ( maybe they need such option in what to tell others. or 1000+)

or other stupid game i think is funny, and all other hate, why not let user have option not telly you own it or play time

then you think of all this, i bet most will agree, not really other people information even if you have other public in all other games you own and want to tell. maybe its something like that OP want.

i could say samething in my skyrim and s2tw , will say 1000+ only and then it dont matter if i have 5000 hours in them.
