This is a very good tip. I think I found an even better way, though.
On SteamDB[steamdb.info] select "Free Promotions[steamdb.info]" from the menu (on desktop, hover the mouse at the top of the page to make it appear). This will take you to https://steamdb.info/upcoming/free/, which lists both free-for-a-limited-time and free-to-keep games grouped by current and upcoming promotions. The start and end of each promotion is listed, and you can click the link or hover the mouse over the text to get the exact date and time.
