how do i find time limited free trials on steam?

i just learned that steam offers free weekend trials for games that are pay to play but steam doesnt promote those games on the store front (or idk how to look for them)

so how do i find them?

This is a very good tip. I think I found an even better way, though.

On SteamDB[steamdb.info] select "Free Promotions[steamdb.info]" from the menu (on desktop, hover the mouse at the top of the page to make it appear). This will take you to https://steamdb.info/upcoming/free/, which lists both free-for-a-limited-time and free-to-keep games grouped by current and upcoming promotions. The start and end of each promotion is listed, and you can click the link or hover the mouse over the text to get the exact date and time.

no thats not it, the game that i know of for this weekend is hell let loose and it is not listed in the news, here is the game page https://store.steampowered.com/search/?snr=1_4_4__12&term=hell+let+loose

Not all will be promoted in any area.

Because that's technically not a limited trial. It's free to keep if you download it before the set date.

They need the "Discount: ≥0%" slider to go 100%.

Hell let loose being on a free weekend is displayed among the current highlighted sales on the main store page for me so maybe you were looking before it refreshed.

i refreshed the page and its not there for me, maybe i need to restart steam but i am playing a game now so i cant do that

i restarted steam and the game is still not on the frontpage, games that r highlighted for me r:

-adult swim sale
-frost punk
-elex
-lgbtq+
-children of morta
-civ 6
-everspace
-cyberpunk bartender
-life is strange
-it lurks below...
-dirt rally 2.0
