Steam....the software doesn't use the forum. Steam Support staff can't help you either as they handle account and billing only.
Ever though it just died? Maybe....just maybe something was a little loose and moving it cause it that part to move a little so connection no longer made.
Software, Steam or others, does not kill hardware. If Steam did have anything to do with the driver changing that wouldn't have broken a physical device. Windows Update likes to update peoples device drivers all the time. Sometimes old, buggy and incorrect drivers get installed. Thats why users here recommend using Shutup10 so you can prevent windows update doing that.
Try contacting the company that makes the hardware. Possible its a bug and they'll actually know a solution.
Really? why did you have to necro a 3 year old thread then? Oh and my mic has worked absolutely fine for the last 4 years. If it was all over the place this thread would have had more than 3 comments before it died.
