I'm looking to hard opt out of being gifted to avoid the situation in the first place.
You can however throw everyone off your friends list if you don't want to interact with people anyway. That will prevent them from sending you gifts either.
Depends on how it's implemented. It could be done right at the point where you have to specify the recipient, with a message like "This user does not accept gifts". Or, if you have to choose from a list of friends anyway, such users could simply be greyed out.
I don't see much use for Steam to implement something like this, though.
Misinterpreted what I said. Having to unfriend people is the extreme workaround, denying is simple but it's something I'd rather not have to do all the time.
It's a niche thing for sure, I'm not demanding they change things, I'm literally just asking if it's possible and providing a bit of context to explain the situation.
There, workaround done. No need for Valve to put in programmer hours.
bit of a reach man, asked if an option existed, not screeching for my personal demands to be met. some of you in here are projecting hard enough to put imax out of business
